Favorite Recipes – Potato Soup

With it being so cold out I thought I would share with you one of my favorite winter recipes -zesty hamburger potato soup.

INGREDIENTS:
1lb ground beef
6 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 oz) can whole peeled tomatoes, with liquid
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
3 cups water
2 tsps salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp red hot or Tabasco sauce

DIRECTIONS:
1.Brown the beef and chopped onion together in the skillet. Drain the grease from the pan.

2.In a large saucepan, combine the ground beef and onions, tomatoes, potatoes, and tomato sauce. Mix well.

3. Stir in water, salt, pepper, and hot sauce, and bring to a boil.

4. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
