Favorite Blogs

I had a small (and obvious) epiphany this evening: there are A LOT of Blogs out there. I started thinking about all of the blogs I read, how I stumbled upon them, many through Blogher or Mother’s Click, and I started to wonder what makes a blog one that makes you want to come back?

I think for me it is not necessarily the number of updates (although I do check a lot of my favorites daily) but how I can relate to the content of the blog. I have to admit that most of the blogs I read are by women (and one dad/dude) that seem to have lives that are very similar to mine.

I am curious.
How did you find your favorites? What makes a blog link-worthy? What is it that makes you come back for more?

A Stainless STEAL!!

Today was crazy. My DH came home to meet the delivery guys from Best Buy with our new refrigerator and and dishwasher. The guys were supposed to just be dropping them off and another set of guys were scheduled to come out tomorrow to install them.

Well don’t you know that they went ahead and installed the refrigerator today? While this is actually a good thing, my poor DH had a really busy day scheduled at work today and was hoping the drop off wouldn’t take long. He ended up having to completely purge our current refrigerator (see earlier posts and you can see why this was not a fun job).

On a brighter note, if you are ever in the market for appliances I highly suggest that you check out Best Buy first. The deals they have are ridiculous. We ended up buying a refrigerator that was the display model because they offered us a $300+ gift card with the purchase). This was very exciting because we were able to turn around and use the gift card to purchase the dishwasher. It ended up costing us less than $100!!!

They come tomorrow to hook up the dishwasher and the water/ice maker on the refrigerator and I can’t wait (Does this make me old and lame….?).

Bathroom Update

Just a quick update on our bathroom renovations. Buzz, our contractor, is moving right a long. Yesterday he finished all the electrical work (except for the “fart” fan – that is what he called it) that needs to be installed in the ceiling. All of the drywall is now up and today he installed the backer board on the floor so that he can begin to install the floor tile tomorrow.

I have to admit that I never thought renovating a bathroom would be as time consuming as it has become. Almost every night I find myself having to “make a quick run” to Lowe’s. As a matter of fact, when I went in last night to pick up tile floor trim, the guy in the tile section recognized me and remembered the type of floor tile that I had purchased the night before.
That is when you know you are spending too much time at the home improvement store!
