Moving SUCKS

It’s official. My best friend has finally sold her home and will be moving to Washington state in June to join her hubby.

It sucks, to say the least.

She came over last night with the kids and we had the best time. We cooked out (my husband did the grilling) and just shot the breeze over glasses of wine. It was so much fun. We cried about her leaving, talked about how great it will be visit, etc.

I am really going to miss her. She has been such a huge part of my life – we’ve been through a lot together, from partying to parenting, we’ve always relied on each other to get through and now she’s leaving.

The crazy part, I am excited for her, I know that this is a great opportunity for her and her family and in my heart I hope it wont keep us a part forever.
Thank gosh for advances in technology that will allow us to stay closer and even more important, will allow our children to remain best friends.

That’s all for now………………..

  1. That stinks! Hopefully you guys can work out a visiting schedule!
Losing a close friend to a move is hard! Those friends are hard to find!

  2. I feel your pain. My best friend and I have lived at least 900 miles apart since we both left for college at 18. But we’re 30 now, and our friendship is as strong as ever. We don’t let a week go by without a phone call and a year go by without a visit.

  3. Thanks for the encouragement. I think what has been the hardest on me is concerning our children. She watched SMB until he was 18 months old. Our families are so close. It’s like when you are young and you talk about how you’ll raise your kids together, have BBQ’s, go camping, your husbands will be pals, etc. It’s just hard.
