I had a small (and obvious) epiphany this evening: there are A LOT of Blogs out there. I started thinking about all of the blogs I read, how I stumbled upon them, many through Blogher or Mother’s Click, and I started to wonder what makes a blog one that makes you want to come back?
I think for me it is not necessarily the number of updates (although I do check a lot of my favorites daily) but how I can relate to the content of the blog. I have to admit that most of the blogs I read are by women (and one dad/dude) that seem to have lives that are very similar to mine.
I am curious.
How did you find your favorites? What makes a blog link-worthy? What is it that makes you come back for more?
I pick my blogs like I pick my friends. If I come across one casually, I see if they seem like someone I’d want to talk to. If they do, I read a few posts and bookmark it. Then I come back. The more I enjoy reading the posts and the comment conversation, the more I get to know the blog.

Content I can relate too, and familiarity.
There are A LOT, and I can see why people get addicted.
It is overwhelming.
I agree with the first commentor. I choose most blogs like I choose friends–friendly, relatable and has common interests.
I’m also sure to read one that mention me from time to time (thank you!).
