Blog Day 2007!

Did you know that it is BlogDay? Yep, that’s right.

BlogDay was created with the belief that bloggers should have a day dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from areas of interest other than that of their blog.

So here are my five, non-mommy, blogs for you to explore and enjoy!

1. PostSecret – a collection of post cards that have been sent in anonymously
2. Waiter Rant – one waiter’s view on dining
3. Valley of the Dolls – entertainment gossip
4. How Stuff Works – Dedicated to explaining how everything from electronics to blogs work.
5. Garden Spot – Dedicated to all things garden related.

Want to participate in BlogDay? Log onto the BlogDay web site at http://www.blogday.org/

I have to say I did have a good time exploring the blogosphere trying to decide which blogs to include in my list. There were a lot of great sites. I just might have to spend some more time on this over the holiday weekend.

Cross Your Fingers… I’m Weak

Last night I began something I’ve been dreading for months – breaking B-man of his bedtime bottle. While I know it isn’t, it feels like one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. When I put him to bed last night without it he was crushed. I think he thought I was kidding at first. After two hours of sad sounding, “ok moms” and the ever whimpered “I need babas” I gave in.

I‘m planning (to his dismay) to try again tonight. I’ll let you all know how it goes.

It’s Official

Some of you that know me, know that I also run a blog called NKYGAL. I just wanted to let you all know that I have decided to put NKYGAL on hiatus for the time being. I just can’t seem to find the time to keep it updated right now. For those of you that currently link to it on your blog thank you. It’s been a blast getting to know all of you. Moving forward, please feel free to link to Mommy Bits. I promise you’ll find it just as fun and entertaining as NKYGAL. It’s not ALL mom ALL the time, I promise!

Love you all -

Another Recall….This Time From Toys R Us

Toys R Us has announced a recall on an estimated 27,000 Imaginarium Wooden Coloring Cases. The cases were sold Oct. 06 to the present and included crayons, pastels, colored pencils, fiber pens, paintbrush, pencil, water colors, palette, white paint, ruler and pencil sharpener. According to the recall, both the wooden box and some of the water color paint contain lead. The recall advises buyers to return the sets to Toys “R” Us for a store credit.

My question is, how did this issue with lead paint even begin? Was there not someone in charge of manufacturing with these companies that was checking for this? I feel like this is only the beginning.
