On Friday my son’s Kindergarten class celebrated Grandparent’s Day.
To celebrate they were allowed to invite a grandparent to school from 9:45 – 10:30 for juice, books, etc.
Well unfortunately my father had to work, and my mother could not attend because she cares for my youngest and does not drive.
To make a long story short, SM was the only child who did not have a grandparent attend. He was devastated and told me that he cried.
I feel like the worst mom on the planet. I wanted to cry myself when he told me. If I would have known it was such a big deal I would have left work and driven my mother there.
You can bet that I won’t let something like this happen again.

Hi!
Thanks for your comment in my Blog1 I think it was the first comment I have received that was not from my Maya’s Moms friends, I was beginning to wonder if anyone out there even read it!
I see that your on BlogHerAds too. Looking forward to getting to know you better!
aww, poor little guy. how could you have known though, really? what about the kids who’s grandparents live far away? my kids will never have g’parents there for special days like that cuz they all live out of state.
thanks for the comments on my blog.
What a bummer. I’m sure he’ll be ok. I can’t believe ALL the other children had Grandparents there. What are the odds?
I hate when stuff like that happens. I would feel like crap, too.
I'm sorry this happened to your little guy.
That is tough!! Sorry this happened to your son.
Awww. that is so sad! My kids don’t have any grandparents close by so they wouldn’t have had anyone there either.
Poor guy! Maybe you can let him throw a grandparent day party at home for them!
I would feel horrible too, but he won’t even remember it next week.
He will have many happy memories that will override this one!
awwa! he'll feel better soon.
Thanks for stopping by my blog… I’ve had those sorts of slip ups too… it happens!
