Don’t Call Me… I’ll Call You

The past two weeks have been insanely busy with work, friends, volunteer groups, work groups, etc. that my husband and I have barely seen each other. We were talking last night and realized that over the course of the last two weeks we probably have all only been together in the in the mornings before work/school.

To address this we have declared this week – Sept. 23-30 – family week. There will be no outside disruptions. We will spend time together- ALL FOUR OF US – playing, reading, at the park, etc. Whatever we do, we will do it together – as a family.

Life just gets so busy and we have to do this. It’s time to focus. I’ll still be blogging (hey, I do that after bedtime for the most part) but I won’t be available for dinner, happy hour, shopping, etc.

Anyone else going through this lately? How are you addressing it?

This is a great idea!! Ya'll have lots of fun. My husband is a football coach so I just have to grin and bear it until the season ends… But we do have a weekend penciled in to go camping (I hope!)…

i can totally relate. it seems like my husband and i rarely see each other as well, let alone have time to talk (unless it’s online while he’s at work).

I think that is a great idea.
It is very easy to run out of time for the most important people in your life (1. husband and 2. children) all while trying to be a well rounded indivdual.
I have friends who set up
    SUPER FUN FAMILY WEEK.
They do everything together and plan special things for the kids, like snow cones after dinner, trips to ice cream etc.
Have fun on your super fun family week!

What a great idea! Good luck and I look forward to reading about some of the things you did.

I can relate — as the kids get older, the committments get bigger and more often. Now my oldest wants to join Cub Scouts! Yikes!

That’s a great idea! We are having a family weekend this weekend. Going to a cabin in the woods, it should be fun. Except for the whole no computer thing!

Hope you have a great family week.

PS-added you to my blogroll as well

I loved being together as a family during our vacation earlier this month. We really need to do that more, especially on weekends. Take lots of pictures and enjoy!

LOL, I was wondering how you’d wait until Sept to make this happen and then realized it was a post from 2007:)
