School Days, School Days…

So things with SM’s school have been heating up…

My work on the PTA is now up and running in full gear. I signed up to promote the school’s Fall Festival and it’s this weekend.

When I first signed up I thought I was getting off easy, I mean.. I do PR for a living. Then we had our first meeting – where I learned I was wrong. My role would actually involve working with the student council to have posters made. I would then take the posters to local businesses and ask them to to hang up the signs. It was a lot more work that I had expected, but it was also a lot more fun that I’d expected too!! (I still did PR – scored two stories, that’s right.)

In addition to my work with the PTA I am also a room mother. This Wednesday is my son’s Halloween party and while I can’t attend (I am really busy at work and it is at a bad time…10:30 a.m.) I am helping by making all of the goodie bags for the kids. Tonight I picked up some cute Halloween notepads and pencils and found some multi-color spider rings. To top it all off I included some candy.

So as you can see I am morphing into the mother of a school age child quite nicely. It’s actually been a lot of fun and it feels good. I am always doing volunteer work for varouis groups but this time the person benefiting is my son – and that means the world to me.

Battle of the Bottle Part 2

So far, so good. I put the B-Man down at 8:30 tonight and by 8:50 p.m. He was out. He put up a little resistance and when he asked for his baba I just explained that they were gone. He was disappointed but took it like a champ.

I should mention that he only took about a 10 min. Nap this afternoon which probably helped. We'll see how it goes at nap time tomorrow. Today he fell asleep in the car, which doesn't really count.

Thanks for all your support!!
