My Recipe (and my son) Has Become Famous…lol

A few weeks ago a reporter with our local paper contacted me about including my recipe for Cake Mix Cookies in an article she was doing on Holiday cookies. She had remembered them from when she had judged the cookie cook- off at my office.

I told her that I would love to participate and zipped a modified (added some ‘Holiday’ ingredients) copy of my recipe over to the reporter. She thanked me and told me that we would just need to schedule a time for a photographer to stop by and get a picture. In addition to getting a picture of the prepared cookies, she said that she would need to get a picture of myself and the boys with the cookies as well. Since the recipe was passed down by my mom, I asked if she would want her in the photo as well, and the reporter thought that was a good idea.

Well the article finally ran on Wednesday and I have to say I was so excited when I saw it. The photo of SM almost knocked me over. I mean it covers almost the entire front page of the Life section. I never would have dreamed that submitting my little recipe for a round up of Holiday cookie recipes could end this way.
