Lots going on so I thought I would just combine it in to one post.
***On Friday SM lost his first tooth. It had been loose for a few days but on Friday he attempted to eat an apple and it did the trick. He dad ended up having to pull it out as the apple caused it to come almost completely loose. I wanted nothing to do with the whole situation and almost passed out just visualizing the loose tooth in my head (I am very weak when it comes to blood). That night we put it under his pillow and in the morning he found $5 in its place. Of course he was thrilled to find $5 and I quickly explained to him that the tooth fairy probably left that much because it was his first tooth. That he would probably find a few quarters next time.
***So last week I blogged about my recipe getting written up in the local paper. Well today I received an email from my blogging friend Mimi saying that she took my recipe and made some cookies of her own! You can read what she thought of them here, on her blog, The Things We Do. She even posted a picture of them!!
*** My baby brother (OK, he’s not really a baby, he’s 25) called and is coming home for Christmas! He lives in Dallas with his girlfriend and we don’t get to see him very often. I can’t wait for him to see the boys and interact with them. I don’t think he knows how much I miss and worry about him.
***Sm and I were talking last week and he mentioned being afraid of getting kicked out of school for being bad. When I tried to find out what he was talking about he informed me that if you get a stick pulled (a warning for talking, not paying attention, etc.) that they just kick you out of school and that it had happened to a little boy in the class next to his. I of course emailed his teacher to let him know what was going on in his head (he is just in Kindergarten after all) and she informed me that a little boy had been removed from the classroom next door. She couldn’t go into details but said that he had severely disrupted the classroom. She assured me that she would talk with SM and reassure him that he would not be getting kicked out of school.
***I’ve started a review blog – Mommy Bits Reviews (original, right?) for all the review posts that I write. I decided to move them so that they’d be easier for people to find. Initially I just transferred over all the reviews I have done to-date, without the comments. I’ve got two products I’m testing/reading right now so more reviews to be posted soon. I hope you guys will check it out. It’s not that fancy but I do have a great blog roll started of other mom bloggers who do reviews. If you, or someone you knows, does reviews, let me know and I’ll add their site to the list.
You are so busy!
That’s exciting about the tooth. The toothfairy is the coolest!
My son, Jack, is totally afraid of getting in trouble at school. I ask him, “Have you ever been in trouble?” and he says, “No.” I assure him that he is a good boy and that if he follows the rules he doesn’t have to worry about getting into trouble. Teachers must be scaring the heck out of the kids at school. Jack is even talking about detention. He’s in the first grade, for goodness sake.
First tooth…yaaay!
He will be amused later on when you tell him about how he thought he'd be kicked out of school…but I know right now it is tough on him, poor thing!
Awesome! I've never been a good tooth fairy, But I know that I had 'em around here trying to pull teeth one year after I gave one a few bills, been working with change every since! LOL! Have fun with your brother, enjoy his visit. Mine wanted to come for Christmas, seems the Warden doesn't give into that request too often, so its a no! LOL Have a good one! Good luck with your blog reviews too!
The thought of loose teeth and pulling them also makes me woozy, probably because the dentist yanked most of mine — ugh!
The tooth fairy rocks though!
Glad you will get to spend Christmas with your brother! I'm sure your son will just love that!!
Yay on the first tooth! Rich is the queazy on in our house so I get stuck with all the gooey bits! LOL!
Thanks for the shout out! I made more cookies yesterday — carrot cake with raisins and pecans. YUM! But I think I’m going to frost them too…
The tooth thing makes me want to faint as well.. I know how you feel on that!
Awwww poor lil guy…hopefully she'll explain it and he won't be scared or worried anymore…Congrats on his lost tooth…awesome your brother coming home for Christmas…have a wonderful visit….good luck on your blog reviews…thanks for the update
Awesome! But you might have gotten in trouble with the tooth fairy, lol. When K lost her first 2 teeth we gave her 5 dollars and told her it was extra because the doctor took them out and there were 2 of them and next time it would probably be less..I woke up next time and hear her in room saying(She was by herself mind you)that her tooth was too small and she only got 2 dollars and here ready for this one..SHE NEEDED TO FIND A NEW TOOTH FAIRY! lol Yeah K put out a peresonal ad, lol.. Anyhow awesome news..and good luck on the next one!
p.s. 2 years later those first 2 teeth STILL have not come in.
The thought of loose teeth makes me nauseous. Even a cartoon dragon with a loose tooth is basically unwatchable. I was hoping that when it’s your own child somehow it’s different. I guess not.
