Bus Stop Drama

The other day I was waiting with SM for the school bus to arrive. On this particular day another parent – who shall remain nameless – was waiting at the stop with his son, who is a year or so older than SM.

As the bus pulled up to the stop I yelled out to SM… “I love you, have a great day!” To which said parent says to me, “Knock it off Mom, He’s too old for that.”

Now while he said it in jest, I wanted to punch him. I know that’s not very mature of me but doesn’t he know that the worst thing you can do is imply to a mother that her son is growing up??????

  1. THAT WAS REALLY RUDE OF HIM. I KNOW ME AND I WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM THAT "HE'S MY BOY, NOT YOURS." THEN MAYBE HE WOULD THINK BEFORE HE OPENS HIS MOUTH NEXT TIME TO A MOTHER. MEN ARE SO DARN CLUELESS. JUST MY THOUGHTS IS ALL…LOL

  2. Oh, I hate that kind of comment! It's like a son is going to turn out to be a complete weakling just b/c you express your love in public. Absurd!!

  3. LMAO, I have been here with the ex- FLASHBACK….however I waited for the bus to pull off and then I DID punch him!

  4. You aren’t being immature.
OMG, I am very immature.. I would have said something horrible to him that would have made the bus stop a very uncomforable place for me and him for the rest of the year.
    He’s an ass.
You should say it EVERYDAY now LOUDLY just to spit him.
    : )
SM will tell you when he wants you to stop saying it. Eventally it will be UNCOOL I am sure…

  5. He sounds like a grade A-#1 Arse!

First off, your son is in Kindergarten.

Second, kids are NEVER too old to hear their mom LOVES them — at the bus stop or otherwise. In fact, I think it’s important that kids DO hear it.

Third, ALL the mom’s at our busstop tell their sons they love them before they get on the bus — and Josh is the YOUNGEST of them!

I would have told him to stick it where the sun don’t shine… but since I hate conflict it would have been under my breath and then I would have come home and bitched to Rich about the a-hole at the bus stop!
