Baby Einstein – Baby’s First Moves Review & GIVEAWAY!!!

A big fan of the Baby Einstein series, I was happy to review their latest video, Baby’s First Moves, Get up and Go!

The new video from Disney targets the first year of a babies life, the time when they really beginning to explore their surroundings. The video focuses on movements such as clapping, jumping, dancing and first steps. In true Baby Einstein tradition, and one of the things I love most about the entire series, the video includes classical music by composers such as Beethoven, Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart. It retails for $19.99 and plays in French, Spanish and English!!
Both of my boys LOVED the Baby Einstein series when they were younger and will still watch it with my friends younger children. We would sit together on the rug and wait for the puppets to appear. SM would fall over laughing every time that dragon would appear on screen and yell “blaaaahhhhh” (you know the scene I am talking about). We would count people on the merry -go-round and name all of the animals. The videos were very engaging.

Now if you know me, you are probably surprised to know that I let the boys watch videos. It’s no secret that Marty and I don’t allow the boys to watch a lot of TV. We are both very careful (my mother might say I am anal retentive) about how much they watch as well as what type of shows they are allowed to watch. With the Baby Einstein series, I made an exception. I really believed, and still do, that they were effective, when used the way they were intended and have seen it first hand with my children.

Want to win a copy of Baby’s First Moves??? Just leave a comment telling my why you’d like to win. I’ll leave it open until next Thursday night (March 6) and will announce the winner Friday morning.
UPDATE: We have a winner! I enlisted my son to help me choose and he picked The Spunky Mommy! Just email me (Shannanb@gmail.com) your address and I’ll drop the DVD in the mail. Congrats and thanks for participating!

The B-Man has seen better days

If I’ve been quiet for a few days it is because I’ve been dealing with the B-man and his constipation again. I know it’s not a fun topic but the poor little guy is petrified of going #2. You might remember me talking about this back in January when I blogged about having to have him put on Kristalose, a laxative to help him go to the bathroom.

It has been absolutely awful. He holds it in because he is afraid to go but yet it makes him hurt even more by doing so. He runs around the house saying “my butt(er) hurts, Mom” and it just breaks my heart.

I called his doctor about it yesterday to see what we could do since the Kristalose had stopped working. He prescribed the dreaded glycerin suppository. It’s working a little, but he’s still not where he is supposed to be- if you know what I mean.

I am going to give him until tomorrow afternoon and if he hasn’t gone I’m calling the Dr. again. He hasn’t gone since Sunday and he’s really uncomfortable. Say a little prayer for him that he goes soon.
