The B-Man has seen better days
It has been absolutely awful. He holds it in because he is afraid to go but yet it makes him hurt even more by doing so. He runs around the house saying “my butt(er) hurts, Mom” and it just breaks my heart.
I called his doctor about it yesterday to see what we could do since the Kristalose had stopped working. He prescribed the dreaded glycerin suppository. It’s working a little, but he’s still not where he is supposed to be- if you know what I mean.
I am going to give him until tomorrow afternoon and if he hasn’t gone I’m calling the Dr. again. He hasn’t gone since Sunday and he’s really uncomfortable. Say a little prayer for him that he goes soon.

Oh no! Poor little guy. Our nephew is having the same issues and they are dealing with the suppository stuff.
Poor little guy!!! I hope you both get relief soon.
Poor little guy. My friend has been dealing with this with her daughter for a long time. Her daughter is now 6 and she has to drink Colace powder in her juice every night. It starts out as a physical thing and then becomes a “control” thing for the kids.
The MD told my friend that she will have to take the Colace until she stops “controlling” the situation. And they control it b/c initially it hurt.
When they started the colace she had some accidents b/c it didn’t allow her to “control” it so to speak. IT’s balanced out now.
So maybe that stuff would work for your B man.
I'm so sorry, that's tough….
Poor little guy! I will say a little prayer for him!
Shannan – try some mineral oil mixed in with orange juice (or other liquid that he might drink). Our daughter had a similar situation – we did suppositories too, which is no picnic. My sister also used the mineral oil and it’s a natural laxative. Just know that eventually he’ll get over it, but it’s tough when you’re in it.
Geez..that’s no fun for him or you!

I’ve been there with my middle one. Although she was potty trained we ended up putting her in diapers until we got the constipation under control. We were at the doctor’s office when she said she had to go. It was coming out, but she was screaming at me about how much it hurt. I remember it with so much pain. Oh, may those days be over for you quickly.

It’s such a vicious cycle, isn’t it? My oldest did this — held it, realized it hurt, was afraid to go again …
I hope he exits this phase soon, for your sake and his.
It’s miserable, I know.
Oh honey I will. Mine went through this phase too. I kept babylax by the toilet so each time had said his tummy hurt, I’d plop him on the toilet. I told him if he didn’t at least ‘try’ to push it out I’d have to use the poo poo medicine. I told him the longer he held it the more plugged up he’d get. For some reason that started working. It was a consistancy thing…the more I did that when he had to go poop the more he got the message and the easier it was for him to go. I wish you luck and I will say a prayer for your little one!
Oh, and prune juice…that works too. I added sugar too it to make it taste good so he’d drink a lot.
Poor kiddo! I hope he’s feeling better soon!
I hope everything comes out all right! (sorry – had to do it.)
I still have issues with my youngest absolutely refusing to go pee before she’s running around like a maniac!
