His Smile Says It All

What you see here is one very happy little boy. Tonight the B-Man is wearing Pull ups for the first time. He (myself included) was so excited to wear them. While he hasn’t used the big boy potty yet, this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Busy Weekend

So it’s Monday morning and I totally missed out on all the fun of the Weekend Blog Hoppers. This weekend went by so fast. It’s like it was all a blur.

On Friday I hurried home from work to meet the Hubs. We had 6pm dinner reservations at Dewey’s Pizza. They are opening a new location near us and we were lucky enough to get invited to attend one of their pre-opening Friends and Family nights. The pizza was really good – The BBQ Chicken, it’s ridiculous!- and the service was great.

From there we rushed back down to the city to meet up with some friends to take in a Cincinnati Cyclones game. The kids had a great time and the crowd was wonderful. There must have been something in the air that night because the place was packed. Usually when we go there are maybe 3,000 people. That night there were 9,000! It really added to the fun and excitement. I hope it keeps up.

On Saturday SMs soccer started back up. The game time changed and now it is smack dab in the middle of the day = 2:45 p.m. UGH. It really messes with your day. I liked it much better when he was playing in the morning. The rest of the day was spent on laundry and other fun exciting things you dream of doing like mopping and dusting.

Sunday was pretty quite. We did a little running around and cleaned some more. We are still coming out of the basement flooding from a few weeks ago -still treating the carpets, etc.

I actually cooked dinner on Sunday…. I swear! I made potato soup from scratch and used up the left over ham and celery from Easter dinner. I was amazingly impressed with my mad skills (I know I am getting a little carried away here ). For someone who can barely cook, it turned out really good. The boys even ate it!

Well that’s a wrap up of my weekend. Sorry I missed all the fun of blog hopping. I’ll catch up throughout this week!

Happy Opening Day!

A fun opportunity to let your little one’s artwork shine

SM and The B-man have really been into painting and coloring lately and my pile of amazing, unique (priceless) artwork has been piling up. Well the other day I was watching PBS Kids Sprouts with the kids and saw that you could submit your child’s artwork through their site to be considered for sharing on air during one of their programs.

I did a little investigating and found that Sprout showcases children’s artwork every weekday on The Sunny Side Up Show (airs from 9am – noon ET). The on-air host, along with puppet sidekick, share viewer submitted artwork and recognize each “artist” on TV by first name and the city they’re from. I think the boys would get a kick out of it and am thinking of submitting some of their work.

Here’s a link to info. on how and where to send your child’s art if you are interested in checking it out:

I would have paid you $50 NOT to steal it

Here's a Big Boo Hiss shout out to all the car thief's and vandals out there. This past Thursday my hubby, who works downtown, had to work late.  That night when he went to start up the car he was greeted by a loud roaring noise (think stock car races) coming from the rear of the car.

While he was working, someone had stolen the car's catalytic converter!! That's right. They laid down on the ground and sawed it off – clean.   When he spoke to the officer (it took him almost 2 hours to arrive…..) he informed him that this was not that uncommon. Apparently there is a huge market for catalytic converters and vandals can make $35 – $50 selling them to salvage yards.

We took the car to the shop the next morning to have it repaired and get this… it cost more than $200 for the part. That's not even including labor!

People suck.
