He’s Just Full of Surprises!!

So…The hubs has surprised me with a long weekend in New York! We are going up the weekend of May 9th. He worked out the vacation days with my boss and even got my Mom involved, arranging for her to take the boys and the dog while we are gone.

I am just so excited. For the trip he booked a hotel in Chelsea and made dinner reservations at MESA Grill, Bobby Flay’s restaurant!!! I am a huge Bobby Flay fan – I’ve seen his Chefography episode on the Food Network a bazillion times – and cannot wait to eat there. I’ve already been checking out the menu trying to figure out what I should eat.

We are also going to hit up a show, probably Spam-a-Lot. If you have any other shows you’d recommend, please let me know. I am totally open.

I haven’t been to New York city since 2001 so while we are there we’ll be doing some of the touristy things too. We’ll be checking out the Statue of Liberty, visiting the 911 Memorial (the last time I was there was Nov. 2001), taking the ferry, and hitting up Lombardi’s for a slice or two.

Things have been so crazy at work and at home. I just can’t believe that he is doing this. We definitely need a trip away together. I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again…. My husband ROCKS!!!!

      What a great hubby. I’m jealous.
      Perhaps the most fun thing I did in NYC was go on the Literary Pub Hop in the Village–history, drinks, and hot actors reciting great pieces of literature (all a 2:00 in the afternoon.

      that is great! it will be nice to get away with your hubby and what a great city to do it in!
      we LOVE NYC… we go as often as we can..
      have so much fun.

      We have The Mesa Grill cookbook and everything Gabe has made out of it so far has been FABULOUS. I am very jealous.
