A Day at the Fair

Today my parents and I took the boys down to a street festival in Covington, KY called Maifest. It’s a pretty typical festival – beer, craft booths, tons of food and rides and games for younger children.

We spent about three hours battling through the crowds perusing the booths – lots of jewelry and hand made items. They even had music stages and performers stationed throughout. The crowds came from all walks of life which made for great people watching – one of my favorite things to do.

The boys had a blast. They loved running around and riding on all the rides. This was the first year that the B-Man was really old enough to ride on anything and he was overwhelmed to say the least. It was extremely touching to watch SM lead him through the bouncy house and hold his hand on the rides. He even helped him pick out “just the right prize” when they played the duck pond game. SM’s really growing into a mature little man.

  1. I love fairs! We don’t really have a lot around here, but it seems like the thing to do up north. Maybe it’s just too dang hot here.

  2. The fairs are so much fun! I love to watch the kid’s faces on the rides. Priceless!
    This year is our first year with Kings Island Passes, we’ve been twice, and it’s so fun to watch them ride…
    FUN!

  4. Ahh tis the season! We have so many fairs around my area and I can’t wait until both kids are old enough to ride the rides.

  5. It amazes me how much fun kids can have at those festivals. They’re loud, dirty and exhausting, but my kids just LOVE them!

  6. Ha! I posted a few days back about the fair coming here… and I have a photo of the Dragon coaster that looks an awful lot like your middle photo!
