For a couple of weeks now the boys have been asking their Dad when they were going to get to go camping. Unfortunately things have been so busy lately that we have not even had a chance to think about it, let a lone make it happen.
Well tonight Marty decided that it was time and after dinner the boys all headed out back to start setting up the tent. It was cute to watch it all come together, listening to them talk about what “supplies” they needed, watching the B-Man make trips back and forth taking all of his trains to the tent.
I have to say I love watching how excited the boys get about camping and being outdoors. I grew up in a small farm town where we camped out almost every weekend. I love that even though the boys are growing up in the city they still have that love for nature.
Here are some pictures of the “men” getting the tent set up. This will have to tide them over until June when we head down to Lake Cumberland!

I’ve been teaching my kids to camp too. They get really excited – although my daughter doesn’t find it too much fun when she ‘hears animals’ – gives me a chance to big and tough and protect her…all of a sudden I’m good old Dad again!
Oh, thank goodness for daddies and backyard tents. I despise camping, so overnights in the yard totally work for me!
that is so fun!
did you camp, or stay inside : )
How fun is that! My son keeps bugging us. It’s cold here but maybe soon. It sure looks like fun. Did they enjoy it?
Awesome! I love to camp! Can’t wait for my little guy to get a bit older so he can enjoy it too.
Lake Cumberland…I think I want to buy a retirement home down there in about 35 years. Love that place!
Oh that is way too sweet!
camping is good fun — especially for dad and kids….
