You Didn’t Have to Rat Me Out

So tonight the hubs gives the boys their allowance for helping around the house. Each is asked to do various “chores” ( I use this term lightly) and in exchange they earn money for their piggy banks.

Hubs: “Here you go boys. Good job helping Mommy and Daddy around the house this week.”

Both boys scoop up their money (change mostly-they love the sound it makes when it hits the bottom of the ceramic piggy banks. Lucky for us, dollars don’t make any noise going in.)

Me: (Jokingly) “Wow Dad. I worked hard this week too. Where is my allowance?”

SM: (Without hesitation) “Mom, you don’t need an allowance. You get money from the bank all the time.”

Thanks for having my back son…… That’s exactly what I needed your Dad to hear.

  1. Mine always think that because I get $ from the machine that there is always $ there.

    Don’t I wish.

  2. How cute! Alexis is still trying to figure out the whole bank/money/credit card thing – always telling me I can just use my credit card – HA!

Have a good Friday, Shannan – see you – Kellan

  3. Ha ha! We’re about to start allowances over here. I can my son making the same remark your son did!

  4. Shannan, it was lovely meeting you last night @ the ML event. I was so excited to see so many fabulous lady bloggers there – perhaps we can all go out for a glass of wine sometime!

    Cheers,
    K
