Doing the Pee Pee Dance!!
I just received the best phone call ever from my mom. She called to tell me that the B-man had gone on the potty today and that he did it all on his own! This makes two days in a row that he has taken it upon himself to try and be a “big boy” and use the potty like his big brother.
I can’t even tell you how exciting this is. The B-man just turned three in June and we have been very patient about potty training, not wanting to push him or rush him into it. I’ve been using tips (and tricks) and insights from a DVD I received from the makers of Pull-Ups – Big Kid Central Potty Training Success – and apparently it’s working!
Now I just have to keep rewarding the good behavior in hopes that he keeps it up. If anyone out there has any advice I’d love to hear it.
PS. I’ll be writing about my thoughts on the Pull-ups DVD over at Mommy Bits Reviews shortly. In the meantime, if you want a free copy you can order it through the Huggies web site.

Okay, when can P come hang with your Mom? I’m willing to pay top potty-training dollar.
And sadly, I’m not kidding.
That’s great! I wish my boys would do that!
Congrats – I have a girlfriend that is struggling with this issue I will send her your link!
I am embarassed to say how long it took my kids to be potty trained (I started to type housebroken…). People kept saying it takes longer with boys….I am happy to report, that at 5 and 10, they are no longer in diapers.
Yeah! It was a happy day for me when I didn’t have to buy diapers anymore…
But Sam had to get potty trained because I just stopped buying the diapers. Refused to buy them, so it was potty training or run around in wet shorts all day (he didn’t like that)
Congrats on the Potty Training!
Congrats! And good for you for being so patient.
You have no idea how timely this post is! Seriously.
I cannot wait to do my very own pee pee dance!
Little Billy was almost exactly 3 years old when he FINALLY decided he’d go on the potty and after that day, he never reverted back – even at night. Good luck with your little man!
Thanks for coming by, Shannan – Take care – Kellan
Oh, potty training. How many times have I scooped my daughter out of the tub because she tells me, “I poo poo, mama.” And we sit. And wait. I read. She relaxes. And nothing happens. So this 2 days in a row? Amazing!
I should mention that when I picked up the boys from my mother’s I learned that the afternoon had not gone as well. Apparently my Mom was carrying him in his big boy underwear when he accidentally pee’d on her. Luckily she laughed. Def. need to take this slow.
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy that’s good news and good to get it done in the summer time.
I saw the title of your post and I had to tell you about the pea pea dance t-shirt (my boy just grew out of his pea in the wind onesie). I swear, I’m not a part of the company or anything — I know this sounds like marketing. Anyway, real person here. Come by my blog and visit if you like.
