On Thursday evening the boys and I headed down to Lake Cumberland to meet up with their Dad. He’s been down here since last Sunday and now we’re joining him for a little R&R (through Sunday).
I don’t know what it is about the small community of Burnside, where we stay, or Lake Cumberland itself, but something about this place just really makes me feel relaxed and at ease. I think it takes me back to my childhood and the small farm town in Iowa where I grew up. Located in the middle of no where, we spent almost all of our time outdoors- playing at the park, fishing, canoeing, going to fish frys, etc.
oh I have vacationed on lake cumberland myself back in the day and I know how awesome it is! Enjoy the “slow time”…it’ won’t last!

Auh, I love the lake. We don’t have a boat but we spend a lot of time there fishing and swiming. The kids love it.
