Every year I anxiously await the moment tickets for the Greatest Show on Earth go on sale. It’s an annual tradition for our family, one that started when I was just a child myself.

When I was in third grade my parents took me to the Circus for my birthday. It was the first and only time they would take me (We had to drive all the way to Omaha, NE – we lived in Iowa) but it would be something I would never forget. From the very moment the lights went down I was mesmerized. I’d never seen such a sight. It was unforgettable.

After I had my first child I knew right away that I would be taking him to the Circus when he was old enough to appreciate it. As that time came near I logged onto the Ringling Bros. Web site for details of when they’d be arriving in Cincinnati. While on the site I found information on Ringling’s Baby’s First Circus program. Through the program Ringling sends a free ticket voucher for your child (one time opportunity) that can be exchanged for a free ticket to any Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey performance, anytime, anywhere. I couldn’t believe it. It was such a cool gesture.
