While I still can’t believe it, Christmas is just around the corner and that means dreaded trips to the shopping malls and fighting your way through crowds trying to find just the right gift for your loved ones. Well this year I’m making an effort to do  more of my shopping online – something I’ve not been good at in the past.  One site I recently discovered through Mom Central is SHOP.COM, a comparison shopping site that allows you to shop from over 2,000 merchants — all from one site. Shop.com even consolidates your purchases allowing you to buy from multiple stores but only having to make one payment.

I’ve been perusing the SHOP.COM Web site and it has some great tools that offer recommendations and help identify which stores are offering the best prices on the products you are considering. Shop.com also has expert advice and articles. One of my favorite things about the site is that not only does it let you compare prices but it also shares info on coupons and rebates — cha ching.  More money stays in your wallet!

The site also does giveaways. Right now you can visit and enter to win a Wii Fit!  They’ll be doing more contests/giveaways as the holidays approach so keep your eyes peeled. Next week they are giving away a flat screen TV!!
