My Own Little Christmas Miracle
It’s a Christmas Miracle!!! I have no presents to wrap tonight!! That’s right people. For the first time in the history of man-kind (OK, really just since becoming a Mom) I will not be wrapping any presents on Christmas Eve!
Every year I wait and wait, forcing myself to have to stay up until 1 or 2 in the morning wrapping presents on Christmas Eve only to be woken at 5 a.m. by excited children. I then spend the day groggy and out of it. Well this year I got smart! I wrapped all of the gifts except for two last night. I feel great.
The only thing I have left to wrap are the cute photo frames I picked up for my SIL and brother. I still needed to print out photos off the boys to put in the frames and couldn’t get to them last night. I took care of that first thing this morning… so voila… I am finished.
I hardly know what to do with myself for the rest of the day, let alone what I’ll do with myself tonight. The family is coming over tonight around 7:30 p.m. but that won’t require much prep. We already did the “deep” clean of the house this weekend and we are just doing appetizers for the meal. It really is like my own little Christmas miracle!!
What do people who don’t have any wrapping on Christmas Eve do? Watch Movies? Drink and play games? Oh, the possibilities are endless!

You can always come down to the Roebling Bridge at 10:45 tonight. We’ll have bourbon and ZuZu’s petals. Jumping optional

I love wrapping presents on Christmas Eve – we wait until the kids are asleep (ideally before 9pm) then wrap, wrap, wrap. It also helps that I have bought less this year. And we don’t wrap every single thing in the stockings.
I make a Christmas stollen from Alice Medrich’s holiday baking book that has enough rum and chocolate to keep me awake through the wrapping.
Congrats on being done today – hope you can enjoy the time with your kids and hubby. That really is the best gift!
When I was in college we would stay up late with some of my brother’s friends and play Scattergories, or something similar, and laugh our asses off-probably because we were smashed, and make our mom stay up-She still did Santa for us then! Those are still some of my best Christmas memories ever.
Nowadays I’m the one up until 1 or 2 wrapping, waiting on Santa, etc. HD stayed up with me last night for the first time ever, I think. I enjoyed his company!
