Abraham Lincoln Never Looked So Good

This week, SM and I spent a lot of time talking about Presidents – What they do, why they are so important, who they were, etc. SM is very interested in history and really got into the discussion, even proclaiming that when he turns 35 he is going to run for President! (I would love to live in the White House someday…. Obama brought his MIL, why wouldn’t SM bring me???)

The discussion of Presidents was in support of a project that SM had to do for school (1st grade). The teacher had asked them each to pick a President to write about.  Sean worked really hard on his project – picking Abraham Lincoln – because he was Obama’s favorite President (SMART KID!). I am so proud of his work. He did the assignment ALL BY HIMSELF, which makes it all the more special.

1. The story begins… notice how Lincoln as a baby sort of resembles a beaver…..lol

2. Lincoln’s pet turkey – LOVE IT.

3. Navigating the waters….

4. Lincoln makes it to the White House!

5.Adding to the creativity, SM made a briefcase to carry his work in.
LOVE how Lincoln’s beard seems never ending.

Sean puts the finishing touches on his Abraham Lincoln "briefcase." I just love his interpretation of Lincoln!
