I’m Too Young For This Crap!

Lately I have been noticing a lot (I mean a lot) of gray hair on my head. It’s tragic. I look in the mirror each morning and lately and this is all I see:

Rather than let the gray hairs get the best of me, I decided to take matters into my own hands and dye my hair.  Since I’ve been trying to be more frugal lately, I ventured out – found a coupon – and purchased a box of hair dye:

This afternoon I found an hour to myself after the sleepover had ended and set to dying my hair.  The result:

It’s just been about an hour since I dyed it and I already feel 100% better about myself. I know it’s sad and pathetic (blah, blah, blah) to let something like gray hair get to me, but darn it… I am only 33 years old!

Now I am left wondering, am I the only one getting gray hair at this age? Please say I am not!  The other question… where the heck is this gray hair coming from and is there a miracle remedy out there to make it go away?!?!?!?!

Love the pics… no, u r not alone. Many of my relatives do (will not name names). I take after my Dad & have not had to do it yet. But I’ll be joining you some day soon. My question: how did you decide what drugstore brand to use? Seems confusing.

I started seeing them the year I got married. Coincidence? I think not. I just started coloring them a year ago though. I gave up the fight.

Good to know I am not alone. Sarah- I saw my first one at 30. But never had them like I do now.
Barbara – I just went with the best cost – not sure if that’s the best thing to do when dying your hair, but I like the results I got with Nice n Easy.

    Elizabeth… coincidence??Hmmmmm, lol

I just bought a Clairol roots highlights touch up kit in blonde on clearance. It’s going to save me a lot of bucks at the hair salon!

I don’t have any gray hair (don’t hate me…I’m 39) but all my friends who have dark brunette hair have had it a while.

It looks awesome!!! You did a great job.

The year my daughter moved out on her own it was like my hair quit holding its breath. Now I have a delicate frosting.

I have a couple gray hairs and I’m 27. I must say though, the colour you chose looks great!

I don’t think you are alone! My hubs has a similar color of hair as you and he is also getting grays. He is also 33. If I have any I can’t see them yet, but that’s probably b/c I keep getting the blonde dye slapped on every 8 weeks. And there is no way the girl who does my hair would tell me if she saw any. LOL. I think you did a great job!

Looks good! And you’re not alone! I’ve had gray hairs for years! Before I even had a kid! I’ve also been dying my hair since high school. I gave up on perms and decided a botched hair coloring* was easier to deal with then a botched perm.

*like the one I did this time, where you can see some of the blonde left over from my previous color in amongst the dark brownness. Nice.
