EQ = Easter Fun in Cincinnati

Last Saturday Marty and I met up with Amy, Susan and their families for a little Easter fun at the EQ, a cooking /culinary program at the Party Sourcein Newport.  We’d all come together for one of the EQ’s few classes involving kids, “Every Bunny Loves Easter Eggs.”

The class, for just $10 included the following (From PartySource.com)

Bring your little bunnies for a bunch of eggs-citement! After enjoying a special lunch, each child will decorate their very own Easter basket and 1 dozen eggs. If that doesn’t crack you up, there’s more! Your child will get their picture taken with you-know-who and then take their keepsake photo home in a picture frame they’ve decorated themselves. (Note: each child must be registered with an adult and the purchase of two seats is required. The adult must stay and supervise the child. Each pair will create one basket, one picture frame and 1 dozen eggs.)

I want to say up front that this was probably the best $10 (per child) I ever spent! Not only did they provide the eggs and all the materials for decoration, they provided Easter baskets with candy & grass, picture frames for the kids to decorate, and the class even included a visit and photos with the Easter Bunny!  The entire thing ran about 2 hours (it flew by) and was led by the amazing Jay Dickerson. Jay and his staff went above and beyond to make sure all the kids and families were having a great time. They even went around offering to take pictures of the families in action. I think all of us were impressed with the level of customer service, especially for a program that normally doesn’t deal with children.

Here are some photos from the class. You will see it was pretty amazing!

The EQ doesn’t host a ton of events for children (since they are located in a liquor store) but I’d recommend checking them out when they do. It was only my second time taking a class at the EQ and it definitely won’t be the last.

  1. Looks like you all had a wonderful time. We decorate and hunt for eggs every year. I love watching the kids try to find them.
