Even if I wasn’t a mother, the thought of a child not having a home would still break my heart. I say this because May is national Foster Care Month and on Friday, Hamilton County’s Job and Family Services Department is kicking it off with the launch a new recruitment commercial and Web site. If you’ve every thought about foster care, or even adoption you might want to check them out.
From HCJFS:
The Web site, www.hckids.org, combines the agency’s old foster care and adoption sites, adding easier navigation and more helpful graphics. The site features all children in county custody who are available for adoption.
In addition to the new commercial and the web site revamp, they will be hosting a variety of events throughout the month, including:
- May 6: A live online chat about foster care will take place at 10 a.m. Individuals with questions about foster parenting can join the chat at www.hcjfs.org.
- May 13: The Southwest Ohio Family Care Affiliate will host “Butterflies and Blue Ribbons” at the Krohn Conservatory to honor local foster families.
- May 19: The Everyday Heroes collaborative will host Foster Care on the Square and distribute foster care information from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fountain Square.
