Contest Closed. Congrats to Jay from Big Lug Land on winning!

If you follow me on Twitter you may already be aware, but Kijiji, eBay’s free, family-friendly, local classifieds site, recently launched a new iPhone application that allows you to search local classified ads, reply to lists and post listings all from the comforts of your iPhone.
Kijiji {info} {app store}
Families can search local classified ads, reply to listings and post items with just a few simple taps while on the go. The Kijiji iPhone app makes it even easier to buy or sell everything from clothes to cars, find a job, adopt a pet, rent an apartment and do so much more, right from your iPhone or iPod Touch. Plus, it’s completely free, safe and family-friendly (no personal ads or inappropriate content), just like Kijiji.com!
As part of the launch, they reached out to 10 tech savvy Moms (including yours truly) and asked us what our favorite family-friendly iPhone apps were. They then took our recommendations and shared them with their readers (SQUEEEE!!). You can view the complete list, which includes games, savings, navigational assistance, a recipe finder app and more, here – Top Recommended Family Friendly iPhone Apps.
In addition to myself, bloggers who contributed to the list include:
Twitter ID / Blog
Tiffany Dockery of Living As Mom
Ciaran Blumenfeld of Car & Caboodle
Alicia Hagan of Gadget Goddess /The Mommy Insider
Shannon Shaffer of For the Mommas
Heather Leister of The iPhone Mom
Jamie Reeves of Blonde Mom Blog
To help kick off the launch, Kijiji has given me a $25 giftcard to iTunes to giveaway! To win it, all you need to do is leave a comment with the name of your favorite family-friendly iPhone app. It’s that easy. Winners will be drawn at random.
Contest ends Sunday, August 16th at Midnight. Must be a U.S. resident to win.
Oh, yay for you, Shannan. Believe it or not, I love Pocket God. My kids can not get enough of it and find it super fun. They look forward to every single upgrade.
OldCamera and QuadCamera are two awesome photo apps for catching great family moments.
My favorite iPhone app is definitely Evernote. Not sure what i’d do without it.
I do represent the company, but I love FamilyVault from IconApps — if it weren’t for that, I’d never have my family member’s blood types or SSNs when I needed them without going home and looking them up in folders.
I love DOTS for my kids (ok, my hubby and I play too) It’s great entertainment for waiting for appointments and keeping restless kids quiet.
I’ve been using SightWords for my pre-K son who’s been doing very well with learning how to read.
Considering I have over 6 pages of apps on my iPhone, this was a tough choice!
Word Magic is a great application for beginning readers – helps with spelling.
SitorSquat – the toilet locator!
I’m seconding Evernote.
My husband has the Ipod touch and he has apps on it. We let our toddler daughter play with a bubbles app and a bubble wrap app. she loves them both. I can’t wait to find more apps as she is older that she will love.
Traveling with kids this summer meant that the Yelp app got a workout, giving us great info and reviews.
I could leave a list about 100 long of my favorite family apps. My kids are obsessed with the SpongeBob Lite app. They love squishing SpongeBob and making him talk. Entertains them while we’re waiting out in public.
The yelp app is great, perfect for traveling and needing to get reviews on the go.
the bubble wrap app hands down. Saves me everytime when waiting in line to pay for grocerys…
We love the SpongeBob app!
Wow! Hard to narrow it down, but I think my absolute favorite is AroundMe, which uses GPS to locate where you are, then tells you where things around you. You can choose what to search for from a list including gas, restaurants, hotels, coffe shops, hospitals, etc. It has saved us lots of times. Worthy of mention are also FirstWordsVehicles & Tozzle which keep my toddler busy (and teach her!) for long stretches of time. And MotionX GPS is fantastic for helping me find playdate locations, garage sales, etc & keeping me from ever getting lost.
Thanks for a great giveaway!!
Spazzle: Midnight Mask sounds like fun
My favorite app would have to be Lose It! It keeps track of what you eat and helps you stay within a calorie limit. Kids have fun checking out each food and how healthy it is for them. Interactive way to eat healhty.
With so many apps to choose from I would have to narrow it down to CoolFacts. This app has over 6,000 neat little facts for people to browse through. Great as ice breakers for parents, and allows kids to learn new and unusual facts along the way. Did you know the most popular name in the world in Muhammad? Check this app out and find out more fun facts.
Love Dots.
More Toast! is so fun the kids get to butter their toast, change toppings and “eat” it. It is so fun and yummy!
My kids are getting addicted to Peggle. I’m already addicted to it, so it must be a genetic thing. At least that’s what I’m blaming it on!
My 2.5 year old LOVES the FirstWords App and also the Shapes App
Love love love Evernote. Not sure what I would do without it.
The bubble wrap app can be so fun for little ones
Love Spongebob
First Words App is great!
So far my on loves the games the most. He plays Pac Man and air hockey all the time. I have several spelling and math apps there for the new school year. I enjoy the recipe apps most.
The Basket Toss game!
FamilyVault from IconApp is great! I definitely recommend it!
SO difficult!
Ummm my kids love tic tac free and the bubble wrap and DRESS CHICA. Because they can dress her in costumes and then send her to people! IT’s soo much fun
I love Millionaire. I am a tad addicted to Millionaire, let’s call it educational, K?
My favorite family friendly app is Shazam – I use it to identify the Kids-songs my Sister plays for my niece… I can’t tell an Imagination Station from a Wiggle without it
I love playing the bubble wrap app on my husbands phone. My son who is 14 months try to play too but he is to small but I bet in a few months all three of us will be playing it.
I LOVE DOTS!!!
Boring here, but I love my dictionary app (for iTouch as I’m not cool enough to have iPhone..YET!)
I would have to say the First Words App. Love it!
I will go with the Yelp app we travel a lot with our kids so this works perfectly.
You guys are amazing! These apps are great!
