Sunday the boys and I attended our first Florence Freedom baseball game out at Champion Window field in Florence. The game was part of their Sunday Family Night series, and this particular night benefited Girls on the Run, a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.
For the game, we met up with my friend Erin and her family, and even though it was one of THE.HOTTEST. DAYS. of the summer, we made the best of the sweaty heat and had a blast!
If you’ve never been to a Florence Freedom game, I’d recommend checking it out. The stadium is small, leaving it virtually impossible to have a bad seat, and it all seemed really well put together. The food prices were OK. We bought hot dogs for $3 each, and then split a soda in a souvenir cup for $6 with $1 refills. This ended up being a great deal as we returned for a bazillion refills trying to survive the heat! They also had a dollar menu that included my fave – The Walking Taco!
The tickets were also really reasonably priced, ours (in section 112) were $10 each, with 45% going to Girls on the Run. They also had lawn tickets- bring a blanket or lawn chair and watch the game from the grass – for as little as $6 each!
I have to say that the Florence Freedom does a great job catering to families. In addition to the game, they have an awesome Kids Zone that includes a bounce house, pitching and batting areas and a play set. The boys and I hung out here before the game and they had a blast! Of note, we were told that during the game you have to buy tickets or a wrist band to play on the inflatables in the area but I do not know how much this cost.
Here are a few photos from our fun night:

Sounds like a great time!
We’ve never been, but have talked about it. Nice to read they are so family focused!
