When it comes to music, I’ve got pretty eclectic tastes. I pretty much love it all (except for county and Miley Cyrus…) so when One 2 One Network offered me the opportunity to get an advanced copy of Harry Connick Jr’s new album Your Songs, some might say they had me at hello. I’ve always loved his voice (and LOVED watching him on Will and Grace) so I was looking forward to hearing what he’d created for Your Songs.

What I like about Harry Connick Jr.‘s CD, Your Songs is that it revisits the past. It’s a collection of covers of some of the most timeless songs, by some of the most timeless artists like Tony Bennett, and others. I personally really enjoyed the album. I found it to be great music for the entire family and we’ve been playing it during dinner, rather than having the TV on in the background. It’s also the kind of album you put on at the end of the evening to help everyone mellow out before bedtime.

Here’s a look at the songs included, along with the artists who originally sang them:

All The Way (Frank Sinatra)
Just The Way You Are (Billy Joel)
Can’t Help Falling In Love With You (Elvis Presley)
And I Love Her (The Beatles)
(They Long To Be) Close To You (The Carpenters)
Besame Mucho
The Way You Look Tonight
First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (Roberta Flack)
Your Song (Elton John)
Some Enchanted Evening
And I Love You So (Don McLean)
Who Can I Turn To? (Tony Bennett)
Smile (Charlie Chaplin)
Mona Lisa (Nat King Cole)

Want a taste of the album before you buy? I found it over on Amazon, and they include sound bits from all the songs. Head over and check it out. If you are a Harry Connick Jr. fan, you’ll definitely want this CD in your collection.
