I am writing this post from a train, on my way to Washington D.C. for the first leg of our family vacation.
Taking the train was my husband’s idea. I’m so glad he’s always thinking outside of the box because it’s been a great experience.
We caught the train out of Union Terminal around 3:30 a.m. I was really surprised by how comfortable the seats were- like simple Lazy Boy chairs with leg rests. I also loved how much leg room there was. This is important if you are travelling long distances, like we were (15 hour train ride). Finally, travelly by train is affordable. It was less than $200 for the four of us.
While there are faster ways to get to D.C. I’m glad we chose to take the train. I’ve loved spending all this time with the boys, uninterupted by the regular day to day world. We’ve played games, we’ve laughed, we’ve talked about everything we were seeing outside. It was great.
