Together Again, Finally

100_4608

Fifteen years ago I packed up my bags and moved out on my own.  It was 1994 and I had just graduated high school.  That same year my family loaded up the car and moved to New Mexico.  I stayed in northern Kentucky.  It was the last time my Mom, Dad and brother and I would all be together as aside from Christmas time.

While my parents finally moved back to Cincinnati four years ago when my youngest was born (grand kids are magical like that), my little brother has stayed away, living in Dallas where my parents moved while he was in high school. This is all about to change. This weekend my husband is flying down to Dallas to help my little brother move to Cincinnati.

I don’t even know how to express how excited I am about this. I don’t have the words. I miss my brother so much. It ‘s been so hard only seeing him over Christmas break each year. I hate that we’ve lived so far away from each other for all these years.

A new chapter is about to begin in our lives. My family will be together again and that is an amazing feeling.

So happy for you… and more than a little jealous.

I also graduated from high school in 1994 and my parents promptly moved to Uzbekistan…then Albania. We’re still scattered across the globe–from Chicago to Virginia to England to Australia.

Awwww, that is so sweet. It’s nice that you love your brother that much. So many siblings just drift apart as adults. I hope my kids are as close when they grow up!

how awesome! It is exciting when everyone is pretty close by. AFter years of living all over the country that is one thing that I do enjoy about living here. It almost makes up for all the snow and cold.
