Spring Awakening Ticket Giveaway

{Closed} Congratulations to Nancy at the blog Bride Face. She and a friend will be attending Tuesday’s opening of Spring Awakening at the Aronoff!

Mama_Reprise

A few months ago Marty & I had the chance to see Avenue Qat the Aronoff and ever since we’ve been talking about seeing another play or musical.  Well you can bet I was excited a few weeks ago when I saw that Spring Awakening was coming to Cincinnati. The highly talked about musical is coming to the Aronoff  Jan 12-24th and tickets start as low as $22.50!

.

Spring Awakening is the groundbreaking fusion of morality, sexuality and rock & roll about three teens coming of age in provincial and oppressive 1890′s Germany.

Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical with a Grammy-winning score by Duncan Sheik, Spring Awakening celebrates the unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, a poignancy and a passion you will never forget.

I bring this up because representatives with the musical recently contacted me to see if I’d be interested in giving away a pair of tickets through my blog. That’s right, I have a pair of premium tickets to giveaway! One lucky winner will get to see Spring Awakening with their BFF or loved one, courtesy of Mommy Bits.

Note from SA Representatives: While the show is as much a celebration of youth, with rocking anthems that bring down the house, it also deals honestly with serious issues including teen pregnancy, suicide, masturbation, homosexuality and abuse. It has tasteful partial nudity, strong language, and sexual situations and is not intended for young children. That said, the show has engendered communication between parents and their teens. 3. The best advice my mother gave me as a teen was that no matter how much I felt things were important in my teenage years, once I was an adult, those things would only be a small memory and not really matter at all (i.e. a party, a pimple, a rude boy, etc.).

  4. my mom always told me that the so-called “popular’ kids would not necessarily be the most successful or happiest people in the long run. Didn’t believe her at the time.

  6. Best advice has to be not to go to bed angry. Doesnt matter if its with my husband or someone else. Let it go before bed or you might wake up with the same feelings in the morning.

  7. Best advice my mom gave me when I was a teen: “I should have raised hogs”

I also retweeted your offer! Thx!

  8. Best advice my mom ever gave me. Hmmm. My mom gave me a few choice cooking tips, but I would say, by in large, my mom taught me to be polite to everyone – sometimes to the point of inconvenience. Having been on the recieving end of rude behavior, I am so grateful my mom taught me the finer points of courtesy and manners. Please, thank you and thank you notes – what a simple (but wonderful) thing!

  9. Psyched for this show!

The best advice my mom ever gave me was that your reputation is all you have that really matters in the world. Money, position, fame don’t really do much without a good rep. Methinks she’s a pretty smart lady.

  10. I saw Spring Awakinging when it came to Columbus. It’s an amazing show and if at all possible try to get on stage seats! I sat on stage and while you miss some things, like the characters singing to the front of the house, you get so much more in return, actually seeing the actors up close and if you’re lucky, they sing and dance right to you in the on stage seating.

The best advice my mom gave me: smile! May or may not have something to do with the money spent on braces ;)

  12. Mom to Son – “When you become famous, don’t ever forget to thank all the people who helped you get there, and the ones who loved you when you weren’t.”

    The Mom is me.
The Son is “Moritz” from Spring Awakening.

Thanks for being Spring Awakening fans!
