Rockin’ with the Rollergirls

Earlier this month while my husband was out of town the boys and I had a blast attending our first Cincinnati Rollergirls match.  The entire evening the boys were mesmerized by the action on the floor, watching the Black Sheep & the Silent Lambs tear up the track and crush their opponents.

After the May 8th match the boys got to meet Kitten Kicker and Nik Jagger.

This past weekend the Rollergirls returned to Cincinnati Gardens to take on two teams — Gem City & North Star. Cincinnati Women Bloggers had organized a big group to go so we headed back the Gardens to root them on. Once again, they did not disappoint!

Wanting to show our support, the boys asked if we could make our own t-shirts. Channeling the talents of my friends Amy & Andi, I headed out and picked up supplies and we made special t-shirts to show our love:

Cincinnati Rollergirls Fun

After reading Amy’s post about the Cincinnati Rollergirls on Family Friendly Cincinnati last week I was intrigued.  It’s sounded like a ton of fun, and uber family friendly. It sounded like something I wanted to check out.

Rollergirls Group Photo by Doug CThis past Saturday the Cincinnati Rollergirls were scheduled to take on the Chicago Outfit so the boys and I joined Amy and her family,  along with my friend Andi, my sister-in-law, for our first (and def. not last) Cincinnati Rollergirls experience.

In a nutshell — IT WAS AWESOME.  Cincinnati Gardens was packed with all sorts of people, including a huge number of families (It was Scout Night). The boys were mesmerized as the players zipped around the track, CRUSHING the Chicago Outfit.  I’d never seen them so into anything. They literally couldn’t take their eyes off the track. It was a great way to spend a Saturday night.

Here are a few photos from the night:
