Cincinnati Rollergirls Fun

After reading Amy’s post about the Cincinnati Rollergirls on Family Friendly Cincinnati last week I was intrigued.  It’s sounded like a ton of fun, and uber family friendly. It sounded like something I wanted to check out.

Rollergirls Group Photo by Doug CThis past Saturday the Cincinnati Rollergirls were scheduled to take on the Chicago Outfit so the boys and I joined Amy and her family,  along with my friend Andi, my sister-in-law, for our first (and def. not last) Cincinnati Rollergirls experience.

In a nutshell — IT WAS AWESOME.  Cincinnati Gardens was packed with all sorts of people, including a huge number of families (It was Scout Night). The boys were mesmerized as the players zipped around the track, CRUSHING the Chicago Outfit.  I’d never seen them so into anything. They literally couldn’t take their eyes off the track. It was a great way to spend a Saturday night.

Here are a few photos from the night:

The Cincinnati Rollergirls have awesome Mascots. Wooly Bully and SM bonded after WoolyBully gave him a noogie, lol.

Cincinati Rollergirl Weezy was top of the list for SM when it came to autographs. She was just as nice in person as she appears here!

Bringing your own snacks is a great way to save up the costs of these family trips. I wish more of these kind of events would show up at these times when money is scarce.

Roller Derby girls are so awesome. It really takes you back when you actually talk to one and realize how nice they are, even though they had just been knocking each other all over the place.
