Lately I have been using some of my vacation days at work to organize special outings with the boys. Today we grabbed my mom and headed to Lazer Kraze in Erlanger. Now while I have been to Lazer Kraze before, I have never partaken in the activities. I am usually the one just watching, holding everyone’s stuff. Well today that changed. My Mom and I decided we were going “all in” and not only were we going to play Lazer tag, we were going to play on the inflatables with the kids as well.
One of the most important things you will need to have if you want to go on the inflatables are socks. This is something I did not think about but fortunately Lazer Kraze has your back and will sell you a pair of socks for just $2.00 (they saved the day!). Just ask at the counter – I didn’t see a sign anywhere.

We started with the inflatables –> The inflatable area at Lazer Kraze is pretty big. We spent almost 2 hours there bouncing, playing and laughing. I meant it when I said my Mom and I both played on the inflatables. I can’t remember the last time I really just let my hair down like this and had fun. We were laughing so hard (and sweating a little…). Open play times vary throughout the week and today it ran from 1-3pm.

We took full advantage of the 2-hour block, securing our first Lazer tag mission for 2:50pm.

While we waiting for our Mission briefing, we took some time to play some of the games in the lobby. There were tons, with most divvying out tickets when you played them. Like most kids, my kids are obsessed with collecting those tickets and redeeming them for prizes
.
Lazer Tag –> Finally it was time for our mission. They take you into a small room where they prep you on the rules. The room was almost full, and of the group there were probably only 4 of us that had not played before. After the briefing they take you into another room where you are fitted with your gear. It was at this time that they called all the “newbies” over and prepped us on the game. All I could think was “I can’t believe my Mom and I are really doing this.”

Inside the Mission arena it is everyone man, woman and child for themselves. While there is no running, you have to be quick as the opponent is everywhere and the younger kids are the worst. They can see the weakness in your eyes, lol. My Mom reported that at one point they swarmed her, seeing her as an easy target for points. I on the other hand took it as a challenge and sought out the little ones…. REVENGE for my Mom!
All in all I have to admit that I had a great time. It was nice to let my hair down and just have some good ‘ole fashioned fun with the kids. Lazer Kraze isn’t just for the kids…. grown ups can have a great time too. I think this is something we will definitely go back and do again.
