A Love Song Like No Other

My 4 yr old sang a love song for me the other night.

What mother’s heart wouldn’t melt after that, right??? Well being the sap I am, I asked him if he would sing it again so I could capture the moment on video (not intending at that time to use it on my blog).  Bman thought it was a great idea and once again my eyes teared up as he began to sing. I was so touched… until things went the comedy route and he started singing about our dog Roxie, the Bengals, and the icing on the cake – litter boxes. Check it out. It’s hilarious.

I will say he was able to transition nicely back to the Mommy love song.  Cracked me up!

Words You’d Never Expect to Hear from Your Child

Tonight my son asked me something I think every blogging Mom longs (or dreads) to hear, “Mom, Can I write a blog post on Mommy Bits?”

I wanted to fall over. I was just so surprised to hear those words come out of my 6 year old’s mouth.

So stay tuned and watch for his post. He’s super excited about it and he’s already shared with me what he wants to write about and spent the evening taking pictures to go with!

Oh No He Didn’t!

Scene: SM goes in to give Grandma a kiss good night (grandma lives with us).

SM: Grandma, I like that picture. Is that daddy and aunt Ria?

Points to family portrait of grandma with my hubs and his brother and sister – taken in the early 80′s.

Grandma: Yes, that was when they were younger.

SM: You were older than everybody (he says very matter-of-factly)

Grandma: (holding back laughter) Yes, I guess you could say that.

SM – Was that during the Civil War?

Grandma bursts out laughing
