Go Get Your Breasts Examined…. What Are You Waiting For?!?!

As I grow older I am finding it more and more important to follow the advice of my doctor and undergo the various exams that she recommends. I mean, I get the oil on my car checked every three months. Why wouldn’t I do the same for my own “hood”? One exam that my doctor wouldn’t let me get by without is the breast exam.

I bring up this mucho serious topic because today, Munchkin (they make cool baby products) is launching its 3rd Annual Project Pink campaign. The campaign shines a spotlight on the importance of early breast cancer detection and aims to remind us all not to “duck a breast exam.”

Through Project Pink you can: Email A Duck, Raise A Buck a remind your friends to participate in routine breast exams. For each Duck forwarded Munchkin will donate $0.05 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Buy Your Own Duck – Created to be a visual reminder of routine breast exams, Munchkin’s 2008 limited edition Project Pink Bath Ducks are available online and at select retailers nationwide for $3.00. One hundred percent of the net profits from the sale of these ducks will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Participate in the Celebrity Duck eBay Auction – Celebrity participants from Courteney Cox to Tori Spelling have shown support of Project Pink by donating hand-decorated and autographed limited edition ducks. Each week in October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a number of celebrity-decorated ducks will be available for auction exclusively on eBay with all proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Breast exams are so important and Breast Cancer is a cause that I think all of us can agree is a serious subject. I hope you’ll each consider participating and that you at least email a duck to an important woman in your life.
