I wanted to take a moment to talk about Twitter and why I think it is such an amazing place. That’s right, it’s a place. It’s not just a social media application, it’s a community. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a question or an issue, thrown it out on Twitter and received multiple responses, often from people that I have never even met, within seconds of Tweeting. Aside from general questions about blogging or finding the best tools for managing multiple online identifies, people on blogger have come forward offering to help me find a job for my uncle. It’s unbelievable. There are so many wonderful people on Twitter. I’ve made some great friends, many of whom I’d never have met without it. If you don’t Twitter, I highly recommend you register. As you know, I’ve been a little down in the dumps about my weight lately. I’ve really been wanting to get my act together and start getting back in shape, but I wasn’t sure I could do it on my own. Well now that’s no longer an issue….. Last week via twitter, something magical happened – the Cincinnati Losers blog was born. Starting tomorrow, myself, along with six other Cincinnati women (Amy from Amy in Ohio, Julie from Wine Me Dine Me, , Kate from Kate’s Random Musings, Laura from Laura’s Carbon Footprint, Monica at Such A REDKATBLONDE, and Michelle at Wine Girl ) will begin our weight loss journeys together. I was over on the BlogHer site tonight when I stumbled across an article on Twitter that caught my eye. The article is by a woman named SuperJive and it talks about her six month experience with Twitter. She writes about how she enjoyed using Twitter, but eventually started to realize that her blog was paying the price. “I started losing some of these snapshots of my life because the energy needed to create them was being funneled into the Twittersuck. I was blogging much less, and I missed it. I think I realized I was getting to the breaking point with it sometime in February at about two in the morning.
